I had posted this earlier at PBK for the Guild Wares contest. Lama had hoped I'd upload it here too for those that aren't members at PlumbBob Keep. The actual lot will be posted in a new topic following this post.
As I quoted at PBK:

I've created 19 full jewel sets featuring a tiara, necklace, earrings, bracelet and ring from various jewel sites but predominently influenced by East Indian jewel designs. In my readings I had come across an article mentioning that the rulers of India were hugely influenced by the designs created in Europe during the Medieval/Renaissance periods, incorporating these features into their magnificent jewels. Hence the use of sets from India for some of the pieces depicted. But, not only were the medieval jewellers skilled in necklaces and earrings, they created other objects to display the wealth of the nobility. The House of Jewels features small jewel caskets, drinking goblets in gold with precious gems, gilded and engraved platters and jewellery displays of tiaras, necklaces, pendants and earrings. All created to embellish the homes of your royals and nobility.

This is a mesh that Sunni was fabulous in editing for me. I had wanted a way to display the tiara, so she had taken the windkeeper tiara mesh and edited it onto the tiara pillow mesh. Thus, I could have a display for each tiara in the Royal Collection. The mesh edit by Sunni is included in the download file. (The original mesh came from SimsConnection's Bridal shop .... the original mesh is SC-bridalshoptiara.package. IF you have this set, please delete that one file from your CC.)

The original is a mesh by Steffor for the Berber Shop at Avalon. I edited the mesh, deleting all the references to the glass texture found in the original. (Sunni double-checked that I had done this correctly in SimPE.) If you have this set, please let mine overwrite (or delete) the file called "steffor-berbershop-schmuck" from your folders as the name is the same as the original. The mesh is included in the download file.

Jewel House -- The Lot

The third level begins what I dubbed "the dummy level". The third floor has a higher wall size you will notice in the next pictures. This is the level that begins the gabled effect to the exterior design, which is another 5 partial levels(floors).

You notice the boxed Tudor effect on the upper part of the wall? That's the "dummy level", making the ceiling space for the third level a quarter wall higher. If you wish to add walls to this level, you will need to use the cheats to enable this to work, or just use the custom unlevelled walls by Numenor to add to the top of whatever layout you implement.

The lot is available with "full CC" meaning the contents in the jewel shop area .... or an empty lot with just the garden, wall and floor textures, and the doors and windows.
If you download the "full CC" lot, you will only need to grab the jewels for your nobility as all the remaining items in the previous post are included in that lot's download link.

Oh, well, perhaps I'm the only person in the Simmers' world, who will use this.

I got the idea of making some medieval window panes, that could be placed in all kind of windows. The object I used is called Wall Sticker by Sims2cri.

I made two recolours and included the mesh.

You can find it in the catalogue under Wall Hangings.

NOTE: You have to place it with "moveobjects on" and "boolprop snapObjectsToGrid false" inside of the windows. It's non-transparent and can only be seen on one side,

from the backside it's invisible. Of course, it still lets the light through.

TDC95 had made a request for portrait paintings from the 16th Century. So, I hope you'll like the one's I chose. I have 60 in all.
I forgot to include the meshes in the files so you need to download Antique Painting Mesh, and Two Story Paintings, high format, extra large and large by Julsfels.

Dirty Faces for Dirty Sims

It's true that most people in the middle ages didn't bathe very often. It was one of the reasons why the plague spread so quickly and so easily, as people just didn't understand the connection between germs, and getting sick.

In any case, I like to make my serfs, townies, and lowly peasants dirty looking. However, I imagine that they did wipe their faces off from time to time, so these face masks aren't too disgusting. They just add a little bit of grunge for a subtly dirty look, made to go with lighter skin tones.There are three here, you will find them in the "costume makeup" category. Enjoy! :)

The Well-Dressed Viking

Thirteen color variations of iamliz13's Russian Viking Style Tunic for Adult Males.

Clothes for the well-to-do Viking-era Norseman: freshly dyed in authentic medieval colors, and in flashy though sometimes ill-advised color combinations.

The only significant change to iamliz13's texture is the addition of Viking-style leg wraps between the shoe and the knee. (Click on any of the pictures to get a larger view.) I also added silver clasps to the shoes and a new silver belt buckle to most of the outfits.

Appears in Everyday, Formal, Athletic, and Outerwear.

Files are named according to the colors, and preview pictures are included in the download so you can delete the outfits you don't want.

Sherabhim had created some new medieval gowns and a mermaid for Meshy at PBK (PlumbBob Keep) with some beautiful images to highlight those downloads. (I believe registration at PBK is required to view those 2 links). Sunni had mentioned in chat one day that she thought the image of the dresses would make a nice tapestry while Michelle (a fabulous creator/recolour artist in her own right) indicated she loved the mermaids and would like those in a tapestry. So I made them!!
The Four Maidens with a celtic border, a gold border and as a painting.

As quoted by Michelle: Wawa hunny, I feel like I have let both you and Sherahbim down with my lack of screenshot taking abilities. These tapestries are stunning, thank you so much.

The meshes for the banner are by Lethe_s at MTS -- 3 tile banner. I have modified it in SimPE to enable transparencies so if you already have this file, please let it overwrite or delete the old one. The tapestry background is an extracted texture from Dragon Ages by poe at GoS. The tapestry has a 'weave' overlay on it so the image is not as sharp as the original. The painting mesh is the Majestic Glamour Mesh by justmoi at MTS. The two meshes are included as per the creators' policies. I have also included a zip within the zip for the various frames that are used by the Glamour painting.

Royal, Noble and Merchant -- Ladies Attire

I had seen this mesh by Sonnenschein from Sims2Marktplatz and had wanted to try recolouring it for some time now. I had read a thread at The PlumbBob Keep, where someone had hoped that a mesh could be created for a layered gown but since I can't mesh (yet), I thought this mesh would be great to give an illusion of multiple layers. I know I haven't done it justice as I'm still trying to experiment with shading and overlays. I envy Sherabhims' fantastic embroidered looks and the way her shading comes through on her dress pleats. Again, I tried .... not the greatest, but not bad in my opinion. Still room for improvement though. (Hopefully she might share her exact methods on how she does this sometime soon ..... the .png images she uploaded for her fantastic dresses will give inspiration until then).
So, I've made a "look" for those royal, noble and merchant ladies to use within your medieval neighbourhoods. I hope you might enjoy them.
In-game views of a few gowns.

There "should" be 25 sets containing a gown for royal ladies -- with fur trim and gold brocade; nobles -- without fur trim and simple brocade; and merchants -- no brocade, simple fabric only. I'm not sure if I got them all into a picture though.

If anyone finds that it may not be included, please let me know so that I may adhere to her wishes. And if you haven't registered at Sims2Marktplatz yet ... If you turn this community lot (you've voted!) into residential, there'll also be room

I had hoped to have a larger set ready, but my computer has been sounding it's final death rattle over the last week ... sigh. But I do have these prepared so I shall present them "as is" for my gift to everyone at the Smithy. Thanks to the fabulous Pykkadilly for coming to my rescue and taking these pictures ingame for me. I didn't want to risk a melt-down opening my game to do them!

They use the Blush textures/fabrics from here. There are 2 outfits for each colour used. One has a small detailed print and the other is the solid colour (indicated by the number "2" in the .package file name) so you can delete those you don't want within your game. I promised Pykkadilly I would do these, the remaining textures to come and those in the Holier Than Thou thread, without the gloves, when I receive my new computer. My birthday present to myself .... as today happens to be my birthday as well. *insert :P smilie here* ... hehehe. They are available for Young Adult, Adult Male and Elder Male. I made the changes in SimPE to enable the recolours for the Elder males to wear. I've also made those changes to the Holier Than Thou outfits if you wanted to re-download them in that thread (a separate link). Allow them to over-write my recolour files. I haven't checked them in-game because ... well, you know .... death rattle in the PC scenario!
The original mesh was created/edited by Aligeth and Oph3lia respectively, of the Friar Tuck mesh. The original mesh by Aligeth was edited by Oph3lia, leaving out the crucifix and other small tweaks. It is included within the download link as per her TOU policy.

So, I wish Lama a Happy Anniversary on the creation of the fantastic journey we've all enjoyed here at The Medieval Smithy. To Amy, Cynnix, Eva, Jenny, Michelle, Román, and Sunni -- Thank You for your wonderful gifts to the site. In honor of the first anniversary of The Medieval Smithy I have remixed some classic medieval outfits for Sims 2 men, using some of the more authentic tunic meshes that have been created in recent years. I also have two outfits that are brand-new.

I also made roughly the same outfits on the LBB Viking mesh, though the sleeves are different because the LBB version has short sleeves. The colors are slightly different too.

"Old and New Tunics"

Next I have two remixes of outfits from the 2005 Midsimmer Night's Dream set from Mod the Sims, and two brand-new ones.

The "Alred" and "Sigefrith" are named after two of my characters who wore the original outfits.

The two new outfits are a flamboyantly fancy tunic on the Viking mesh, and a version of the same without the overtunic, on the LBB mesh.

Fantasyrogue's Tunic and Chausses

My other set uses Fantasyrogue's Medieval Tunic and Chausses meshes.

For my remix I chose one of Helaene's Medieval Men's Outfits, also from A Midsimmer Night's Dream.

I fit the neck lacing onto the tunic mesh as best I could, and made six recolors. I also made four recolors of the chausses, which I will talk about in a minute. First a look at the tunics.

Now for the chausses. I made some alterations to Fantasyrogue's version. I replaced the braies with the braies from All About Style because I like them better. I also added color-coordinated side-laces as a nod to the fact that this is how the hosen were held up in an age before elastic. (Think garter belt + thigh-high stockings.) Finally, I edited the alpha so that the gap between hose and braies now shows the skin.

If the man is wearing a skin-tight untuckable T-shirt, then some of the top may be visible in the gap, as if it were tucked into the braies. Not much I can do about that, but I don't know why your medieval man would be dressed like that anyway.

Holier Than Thou

There was a request at The PlumbBob Keep for Bishop Cossacks and Ceremonial Garb (registration required to view that specific thread). And this is what I have ..... so far. Yep, there may be more of these coming. I really like this mesh, be it for the church, nobles, merchants and even peasants. But for now, you get The Church ... or a noble or two! Holier Than Thou Alternate angles of one of the outfits within game-play. All the various outfits as viewed within Create-A-Family.
The last Sim on the right is wearing the original mesh created/edited by Aligeth and Oph3lia respectively, of the Friar Tuck mesh. The original mesh by Aligeth was edited by Oph3lia, leaving out the crucifix and other small tweaks. It is included within the download link as per her TOU policy.

South of Normandy Series #3

It's been awhile since I uploaded anything new, I've been busy with real life and have had my hands full. I also took a small break from anything medieval- so coming back to it has been fun.

Today I present to you South of Normandy series three, The French Palace. I built this lot sometime ago for a Count with a great deal of money and who needed a sturdy castle with good defenses, and this is what I came up with.

It's a little different than other lots, because as you can see, the entrance is on the second floor, and the floor beneath contains many of the common rooms. But the large moat provides ample protection, and plenty of fish as well, if you have seasons.

The castle is unfurnished, and aside from a few more of Kativip's decorations, only the usual downloads for this series are included. (See series 1 for a complete list.) Download it here and enjoy!

Just a side note, two more lots and this series comes to a close. I personally have all the lots I need, and there are plenty of other talented lot builders out there. I would rather concentrate on other things.
